Lions and Tigers and Earthquakes. OH MY

Yesterday we had not one, but TWO earthquakes. I've lived in Northern California for twenty one years. We moved here in 1990 after the seriously huge 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Loma Prieta was a 6.9 magnitude quake. The first one that hit yesterday was 4.2 and the second was 3.9. They were the biggest I've felt since I've lived here. It was so scary. I can't even imagine how the big one in 1989 must have felt. Holy cow. All is well here though. Nobody got hurt. But facebook blew up with all of us checking in on each other and talking about how frightening the quakes were. Man, what a day. And to top it all off? Yesterday was The Great California Shakeout, which is the day that many Californians take part in an annual earthquake preparedness drill. How freaky is that? Very, if you ask me.

Anyway, I'm celebrating our safety today by looking like a yeti. This faux fur vest is one of my favorite pieces that I never wear. I'm wearing it today with leopard and denim and studded cowboy boots. That's right. The wackiest outfit but I absolutely love it. I think it's going to be my new "go to" look when having survived two earthquakes the day before.

Happy Friday, y'all!

I don't do this often, but LOL. Seriously. I like it when you look like a yeti. I also like it when you survive not one, but two MOTHERFUCKING earthquakes. We'd make the best team ever. For realz. I survive home invasions and you survive multiple earthquakes of impressive magnitude. WHAT CAN'T WE DO?

Answer: Sew.

Oh. And your glasses. Give to me.

Oh man, Tracy, I would be freaked out too if I felt two earthquakes in that short span of time. I had a really horrible, traumatic experience with earthquakes when I was a kid, so even just a little shock really scares me.

I love your CHIC yeti look! hahaha. And those boots-- they are soooo gorgeous!
Have a happy weekend!

First, you look amazing...I love this outfit. Second, did you hear that San Antonio had an earthquake yesterday??? It was very random..a 4.8 on the richter scale! There is a cartoon circulating with two guys looking at a turned over backyard chair and it says EARTHQUAKE OF 2011!! I don't think we take it as seriously as you have to in CA!!

I love this outfit -- but that may be a bad thing. You know how quirky my taste runs!

In an article on the earthquake, I read that there's a 99% chance of another major one during the next thirty years. Why do you live there? Are you scared? I'm worried, simply about you.

You are a hot yeti. Just sayin'.
I am so glad to hear that everyone is okay after the earthquakes. We had one here a few years ago, and it was just ... eh. I kept texting right through it as I sat in my car, so it wasn't that bad --- or I'm that insane and addicted to my phone. Either one.

Good grief- I've missed 3 of your posts this week (such fun to catch up on!) I'd say my biggest fear when considering moving to Cali are the natural disasters- 2 earthquakes- eeek! Glad you're ok and you look fabulous, earthquake survivor!

You have a wonderful sense of style. I wouldn't have thought to pair ankle boots with cropped leggings and that's my loss because you're definitely working this whole look!

This outfit is right up my alley. Last March I did a post about my white furry vest entitled "does this vest make my ass look like a yeti". I love this look on you and those boots are ah-mazing! Glad you're safe and fabulous!

Glad you are okay
earthquakes just seem so surreal to me hope nothing was broken or anything
great look!
my friend Carla and I always debt over the fur vest...
does it make us look too heavy and bulky or is it a great statement?
you proved with this outfit that it is a great statement!
