Layering Jackets

As you all know, I'm a big fan of layering. And if you didn't know that, now you do. Or "If you don't know, now you know."(Notorious B.I.G) But I digress..........LAYERING. Right. So, I like to experiment with layering. It's a necessity in the Bay Area since we go through three or four climates in one day. I'm exaggerating only a little. Because of this, I usually layer for cold weather in the morning and much warmer weather after noon. And then I have to put all the layers back on for the cooler evening weather.

Today I decided to wear a tank topped with a blazer and my military coat. And of course I had to add my cozy buffalo plaid cashmere scarf. When I put this scarf on, I make purring noises. Stranger things have happened. And you know you do the same thing, so don't hate.

Blazer: Banana Republic
Military jacket: Gap
Tank: Old Navy
Jeans: Rock and Republic
Scarf: Nordstrom
Pumps: Calvin Klein via TJ Maxx
Sunglasses: Elizabeth and James
Bag: J Crew
Belt: Vintage Ugo Correani

The Notorious B.I.G. reference cracks me up. Now I have that song running through my head, lol!

I LOVE that striped blazer. You always look fab so I feel like I repeat myself all the time in your comments.

Here's a joke:
You know you live in Ohio when you turn on your air conditioner and heater on all in the same day.

Maybe true for Oakland, CA too? Heather

Lovin' the layers!! Once again, insanely jealous of the blazer! I don't blame you at all for purring over the scarf - looks SO cozy!! :)

I am jealous because your buffalo plaid scarf is cashmere and mine is just cheap fleece from the men's section at Old Navy, so I don't have the pleasure of making purring noises when I put it on. I just grunt, grimace, and throw it back in the closet again. I've never actually seen a cashmere buffalo plaid scarf to buy in real life. Buffalo plaid in itself is very obscure for me, and it pisses me off.

I'm not sure if that word worked in that sentence, but it sounds okay, so I'm going to leave it.

I like the second picture. It reminds me of what I do every night before I tamper with your door and try to break in. Always gotta check myself out to make sure I'm lookin' good for you. Baby.

Love that you reference Grease one day and Biggie the next. Hilarious.

And wonderful layering - I'm still working my up to layers like that.

That's a very COOL idea!!! It's great if you have a bigger jacket! You look great girl! :D

I learn from you. You are the Layering Maven. I, since I never go outside and have limited imagination, rarely layer and when I've tried, it never looks as good as you. Thank goodness you're in my life!

Yes!! I love pretty outfits but they get brownie points in my books when there's a creative element. Jacket-on-jacket definitely qualifies!

I've been dying to try out the layered jacket look but I'm afraid I'll look like a fluffy marshmallow! But you are just daring me to try with this look - you look great with every layer! :)

Haha love the B.I.G reference! You have so many amazing piece in this one look! First that tiered white top is just stunning on you and looks PERFECT with that slim red belt. Adding the blue and white blazer made the red pop even more and topping the whole look off with that gorgeous army jacket (that I want to steal from your closet!) created a flawless look. Killer outfit as always, no one does layers like you lady!

Cute! I can't believe how long it's taken me to finally make it over to your blog. Just silly! I just picked up a new scarf that's about a mile long and extra wide. In case I need to be swaddled or something. It makes me purr:)

Bahahahahhaa - Notorious B.I.G.

Your blazers are always fantastic. Layering is such a must for me. I am either hot or cold, so I am constantly putting on layers and then taking them right back off. It's ridiculous.
